The third artifact was returned in a dark velvet sack and immediately established within a windowless room. The worlds inside the thing had long vanished. They had reached their furthermost expressions of entropy and collapsed back into their own universal womb. While SPACE and matter were busy having a whole other universe on the other side of the big bang, TIME was left alone as a system of striations against a featureless nothing, a labyrinth of wormholes...and who KNOWS what it's like inside of something like that. Everyone found it spooky.
